President for extending benefits of modern technology to persons with disabilities

PESHAWAR: President Dr Arif Alvi here Monday emphasized the need for adopting all possible measures to extend benefits of the modern day technology to support persons with disabilities and those affected by the rising incidence of non-communicable diseases and aging factors.
Addressing an interactive session with persons having disabilities held in coordination with World Health Organization (WHO) here at Governor House, the president said the assistive technology was drawing commitment at global, regional and members state level, which was a sign that the world was changing for the betterment and there was a hope for those in need of assistive products. ....

AGP Gets Approval to Import Russian Coronavirus Vaccine to Pakistan
AGP Limited, a Karachi-based pharmaceutical firm, is set to import the Russian Coronavirus vaccine- Sputnik V- to Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by AGP, the company will now ensure the availability of a sufficient supply of Sputnik V vaccine on an emergency basis to augment government’s effort in vaccinating the masses.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan told the federal cabinet Tuesday Pakistan was the first country to take into account the negative effects of the coronavirus lockdown and make timely decisions, while pandemic in India increased poverty.
He particularly appreciated the timely and transparent initiatives of the National Command Operation Center (NCOC), Ehsaas and the finance ministry team. The cabinet was briefed on the issue of Broadsheet, and the ministerial committee recommendations were presented in the meeting.
The planning minister briefed the cabinet on the impact of coronavirus pandemic on the basis of a recent survey, conducted by the Federal Bureau of Statistics. It said that the income of about 20 million people had almost waned in April; thanks to the wise strategy of the government, the policy of smart lockdown, instead of complete lockdown and decision making in the construction and manufacturing sector, the income of 20 ....
