Restart package will help businesses recover
from lockdowns
The State and Federal Governments have today announced a joint financial assistance package for Victorian business which will give them the support and confidence they need to rebound from Lockdowns Four and Five.
The Victorian Chamber and the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) helped design this latest $400 million support package, which picks up some of the businesses that have missed out on previous grants, provides allocations to some of the hardest hit sectors of tourism and large-scale hospitality and provides a cash injection for CBD businesses to see them through while weekday footfall remains low due to work from home orders.
Australian Living Evidence Consortium
The Australian Living Evidence Consortium (the Consortium) has welcomed the announcement that the Victorian Government will invest in the ‘Living Evidence’ model to transform the way new research is used to improve outcomes for patients in Victoria and around Australia.
Yesterday’s Victorian budget announcement included $4 million in funding for Living Evidence Phase Two, a four-year program to develop a world-leading, end-to-end evidence system to enable busy frontline clinicians to stay continually up-to-date with the latest research so they can provide the best possible care.
The Living Evidence model harnesses innovations in software, data systems, machine learning, citizen science and co-production to enable continual evidence surveillance and near real-time updating of high-quality systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines.

More than 6,000 small businesses in Victoria have signed up to use a digital voucher scheme offered by the state government, as eight new providers are this week added to the list of vendors.
Announced in November 2020, the Small Business Digital Adaptation Program provides eligible Victorian small and micro businesses, including sole traders, with rebates for selected digital products, as an incentive to build their digital capabilities.
To access the rebates, businesses must first trial and then purchase one of the approved digital products, before receiving a rebate of $1,200 to use the product or service for 12 months.
