Young Entrepreneurs Participate In First Norman Children's Business Fair

NORMAN, Oklahoma -
Children participated in a Norman business fair where they got their first taste of what it s like to own their own business.
Thirty young entrepreneurs set up shop here at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds for the first annual Norman’s children s business fair.
“When you take kids seriously and give them an opportunity to do something great, then they will rise to that occasion,” Evergreen: an Acton Academy head of school and co-founder Matina Hunnell said.
These young innovators ages range from 6 to 16. For many of them, this was their first time attending a marketplace, but you can t tell when speaking to them. ....

Norman Second grader develops Valentine's Day initiative for people without homes

After the COVID-19 pandemic limited seven-year-old Amberly Shroyer and her family’s opportunities for volunteerism, she developed some initiatives of her own.
The Norman second grader at Le Monde International Charter School expressed concern about the homeless community during the beginning of the pandemic.
During a Loveworks Leadership lesson about a teenager who threw birthday parties for kids in shelters, Amberly asked her mom, “What about the adults?”
This question led to the creation of Amberly’s Sensational Celebration. ....
