Ararat Wind Farm Sustainable Grants Program 2021 is now open, with applications being accepted from this week.
Since 2017, The Ararat Wind Farm Pty Ltd has proudly supported communities to make an impact, as well as promote social wellbeing and environmental sustainability projects for the benefit of communities across Ararat, Pyrenees, and Northern Grampians municipalities.
Ararat Rural City Council chief executive Dr Tim Harrison said the program, administered by Council, provides eligible groups with financial assistance, helping them run innovative and sustainable projects that benefit the wider community. ....

Ararat Rural City Council delivers on upgrades to local roads
Residents across Ararat Rural City are set to benefit as three major road safety upgrades are complete.
Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said the three separate projects collectively worth more than $4.14 million are to be finished in June.
“This is a huge milestone for Ararat Rural City and highlights our most significant road construction projects for this financial year, with our budget delivering our single largest investments in roads ever,” said Dr Harrison.
“The majority of these projects have been made possible thanks to funding by the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery Program, Victorian Government’s Regional Infrastructure Fund and Ararat Rural City Council. ....

Rich and colourful stories of Japanese culture will be explored in a new textile exhibition opening in Ararat from Saturday, 26 June.
The Thread of Life: Japanese Textiles exhibition, includes a loan of boro textiles from a private collection, as well as artworks from the Ararat Gallery TAMA Collection.
Boroboro, a Japanese term for rags, carries a rich history within the intricate stitches of these patched textiles. Today the indigo, hand-patched garments and quilts are known by the term boro.
Mayor Jo Armstrong said the inclusion of such pieces for our upcoming exhibition is a great achievement. ....
