View Comments In a modest ceremony, the Arizona Wing of the Civil Air Patrol honored two of its members who helped save the lives of two injured teens in the 2020 Westgate shooting in Glendale. Maj. Randy Hammit and 1st Lt. Kelli Hammit, a married couple from Glendale and both members of CAP, were each awarded with a Silver Medal of Valor for rendering first aid to the teens on May 20, 2020. The recognition ceremony, which was held in a small lounge in Gila River Arena, was attended by members of the U.S. Air Force auxiliary and one of the victims. ....
