Robert Marlowe, a volunteer at the Parker Public Library, has been named the Arizona Library Association’s Volunteer of the Year for 2020. Library Director Tracy McConnell made the announcement and presented Marlowe with a plaque at the Dec. 1 Parker Town Council meeting.
McConnell said the ALA selects a Volunteer of the Year every year, and, when heard nominations were open, she said she immediately thought to Marlowe. She estimated he’s put in over a thousand hours in the last year, and he does most of their heavy lifting.
“We couldn’t do what we do without him,” she said. ....
