Schools receive masks from foundation Article by May 5, 2021 The Arnott Cato Foundation, represented by one of its board members, Margaret Hope and its administrative manager Requell Griffith, presented fifty masks in their respective school colours to the principals of Queen’s College and Ellerslie schools last Thursday. The masks are intended to be worn by the leaders among the students at the school to set a proud example to their fellow students and to follow the protocols for mask- wearing still in place as Barbados continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficult task of safely educating students in these difficult times, as well as protecting their teachers and their families at home. ....
Social Share Keira Inniss is one step closer to achieving her dream job thanks to the City of Bridgetown Credit Union and the Arnott Cato Foundation. She is the 2020/2021 recipient of a scholarship facilitated in partnership by the two entities given to a student who is pursuing a masters in public health at the University of the West Indies (UWI). In a virtual award ceremony held recently via Zoom, Inniss said she enjoyed helping others as a child and wanted to follow a career path associated with her passion. “It is an honour to care for others and contribute to their wellbeing,” she said. “As a result, I enrolled in various programmes, starting as early as Brownies, to then enrolling in Key Club, where I visited geriatric homes, assisted in beach clean-ups and participated in health fairs. ....
Keira Inniss winner of the 2021 Arnott Cato and City of Bridgetown Credit Union Scholarship Keira Inniss spent her childhood helping those around her. Her acts of service later influenced her decision to pursue a career as a public health professional. “Growing up I was always eager to assist in any way possible, whether it be ensuring my elders took their medication on time to supervising children when asked to. It is an honour to care for others and contribute to their well-being,” says Keira. She was in Brownies at primary school and went on to join the Key Club in secondary school. These organisations helped to foster her passion for philanthropy and to pursue an area of study where she could help those in her community. ....
