The Arnott Cato Foundation, represented by one of its board members, Margaret Hope and its administrative manager Requell Griffith, presented fifty masks in their respective school colours to the principals of Queen’s College and Ellerslie schools last Thursday.
The masks are intended to be worn by the leaders among the students at the school to set a proud example to their fellow students and to follow the protocols for mask- wearing still in place as Barbados continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficult task of safely educating students in these difficult times, as well as protecting their teachers and their families at home. ....

Letter calls on Kenney to apologize for comments on South Asian community, consult with racialized Albertans

A group of public health students at the University of Alberta is calling on Premier Jason Kenney to apologize for his comments last November about COVID-19 spread in Calgary’s South Asian community and for more consultation with racialized Albertans to understand the unique challenges they’ve faced during the pandemic.
An open letter released Monday condemned the UCP government’s “failure to collect and act on data on the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on racialized Albertans.”
“As members of racialized communities and future public health practitioners, we believe our voices need to be considered and conciliatory approaches must be taken to make amends,” stated the letter, which was issued by the School of Public Health Students for ....
