EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - River Bend Nursing & Rehabilitation, formerly Pine Haven, has officially closed their COVID-19 unit and declared the facility green.
The unit they closed was a recovery unit. This unit, facility officials said, would intake COVID-19 hospital patients.
70 patients came through that unit, officials said. All of those patients recovered.
COVID-19 Nurse Kala Kaiser had a big roll to play in that.
“It was like a huge weight lifted off,” Kaiser said. “I’ve been just as isolated as some of these patients. I come in the back door. I leave at the door. The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) on Tuesday granted the operating licence for Unit 2 of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, located in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region. The announcement on the commercial operations of the plant’s Unit 1 is also expected this month, a top official confirmed.
The operating licence, which has been issued for 60 years, authorises the plant operator Nawah Energy Company to commission and operate Unit 2, said Hamad Al Kaabi, the UAE’s permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and deputy chairman of the FANR. ....
