Bond for New Mexico United stadium could be on the ballot this November

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller and New Mexico United Owner Peter Trevisani made a big announcement at the team s tailgate Saturday.
Tonight is a historic night for our city and for the United and I think you know why, Keller said. You might have seen we ve been doing some homework on that question you ve been asking me for the last two years – when are we getting a stadium?
Keller said there s finally some answers.
We are sending a resolution to the council on Monday to put a bond for a new stadium on the ballot this November, Keller said. ....

Herb Hughes, a longtime state and local elected official, government administrator, university professor and coach – who had a hand in banning indoor smoking in Albuquerque and reworking the state funding formula for public schools – died earlier this month at his home in Albuquerque. He was 90 years old.
Hughes, nicknamed “The Boy From Roy,” was born in Roy and raised in Albuquerque. He was tapped by two former governors for state jobs, served as a high-level administrator for Bernalillo County and was elected to two terms on both the Albuquerque City Council and the Public Regulation Commission. ....

Meet “Kelly,” a woman showing signs of mental health issues whose rap sheet includes low-level crimes.
She becomes addicted to drugs and gets arrested for breaking into a home and stealing a car. She subsequently is involved in a drug buy and ends up killing an innocent bystander.
The city will be using this hypothetical case study as it convenes a series of meetings with law enforcement and community partners to address what authorities call a broken criminal justice system.
