MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) - More than 1.7 million South Carolinians have at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Department of Health and Environmental Control’s vaccine dashboard.
But, as the state continues to forge ahead against the pandemic, some Grand Strand hospitals said vaccine demand has slowed down a lot.
The staff at Tidelands Health said they’re doing fewer vaccinations each week because of the lack of demand. ....

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Tens of thousands of COVID-19 vaccine doses later, Conway Medical Center is the latest provider to allow walk-ins for vaccination.
“From where we were months ago to where we are now, it has been remarkable to see how quickly we’ve been able to transition to allowing walk-ins,” Allyson Floyd, CMC spokesperson, said.
In their first week of walk-in clinics, Floyd said they had about 200 people stop by. She noted the hospital can offer walk-ins because they’re consistently getting all the doses they ask for each week. ....

Apr. 1 Eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine opened to all South Carolina residents 16 and older Wednesday, but Horry County hospitals didn t see the influx in appointment requests that some expected.
