County COVID-19 Report As the 2020 year ended there were a total cases of 1,716 persons in Randolph County who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus according to the county health department s report issued Dec. 31. On that final December day, there were 80 active cases, 11 persons hospitalized, 1,611 persons had been released from isolation and 25 deaths attributed to the coronavirus the report indicated. The Wednesday, Jan. 6 COVID-19 report issued by the Randolph County Health Department showed that a total of 1,782 persons in the county had the virus since testing were first documented last March.
