Drill rappers whose lyrics incite violence or taunt the families of murder victims are being targeted by a new police unit.
The Met’s violence intervention unit has applied for 100 criminal behaviour orders against offenders aged between 14 and 25. 
Sergeant Keeley Tye said it is also monitoring 77 ex-prisoners who have been released with restrictions. 
Police now have powers to vet lyrics and videos of individuals before they are posted on social media platforms when a specific part of a criminal behaviour order or gang injunction.
He is banned from rapping about rivals or specific attacks, although he can refer to violence generally.  ....

A POLICE chief has pledged to ramp up the number of “gang injunctions” against suspects after one was used to ban a teenager from riding a bike in public and stop him from entering the borough of Islington.
Dylan Callender O’Brien, 18, was handed a gang injunction order this month banning him from riding a bike in a public place, possessing a balaclava, running away from the police or entering any part of Islington.
The hardline measures are part of a new strategy the police are seeking to pursue in a bid to crack down on violent crime in the borough and across London, the ....

It is thought to be the first time such a specific set of restrictions have been imposed through a gang related injunction.  
Under the injunction, Callander O Brien must provide full details of his mobile phone and social media accounts to police. He is also banned from posting any hateful or violent content on social media platforms.
He is also prohibited from running away from officers when instructed to stop and possessing a weapon.  
The injunction, which was granted by the civil courts, means that if Callander O Brien breaches the order he will be arrested and liable to serve time in prison.  ....

An alleged gang member has been placed under multiple restrictions by the court, including travelling into Islington or parts of Camden and Hackney.
Dylan Callender O’Brien, of Enfield, was given a 12-month gang injunction by the Central London County Court on December 8 after he breached an interim gang injunction on August 27.
This is a civil order, given to people who have allegedly been involved in gang-related violence, and has been used to ban the 18-year-old from contacting 59 people, entering particular areas in north London, possessing a knife or offensive weapon, riding a bike in a public place, owning a balaclava, using social media to incite or encourage violence and running from police when asked to stop.  ....
