Carl Pei s Nothing acquires now-defunct smartphone brand Essential
Carl Pei s new start-up Nothing has acquired all existing trademarks, logos and the branding of the OEM which was founded by Andy Rubin, the creator of Android OS.

Nothing, the new start-up from former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei s new venture has acquired Andy Rubin s ill-fated hardware start-up, Essential. 9to5Google managed to find fillings at the UK intellectual Property Office that validate the transfer. Andy Rubin appears to have signed off his company to Pei s Nothing Technologies Limited as early as November 11, 2020. The process was finished on January 6, 2021.
As of now, Nothing owns all existing trademarks, logos and the branding. ....
