The set contained a number of vehicles and tents, production equipment and a large group of cast and crew on Friday morning.
Muru, an action thriller, is based on the 2007 Tuhoe police raids.
A Discovery New Zealand spokesperson said it will explore themes of race, identity and self-worth via a plot line which follows the plight of a local cop, trapped between opposing sides.
The 90-minute piece, made by Jawbone Pictures, will debut on Three.
The on-air date is yet to be released.
Earlier in the month, residents received a note from the production company explaining there would be restricted access to the nearby roads due to the filming of the film. ....
