The Indian Air Force (IAF) has decided to build a 100-bed Covid care treatment facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Located at Air Force Station Jalahalli, the new facility is for the general public and the first 20 beds are expected to be available by 6 May, tweeted Defence spokesperson (PRO) Bengaluru, Indian Ministry of Defence.

New Delhi [India], May 5 (ANI): The Indian Air Force on Wednesday said that a 100-bed COVID care facility for the general public will be operational at Air Force Station Jalahalli, Bengaluru from Thursday.
It will be manned by medical personnel from Command Hospital Air Force, Bengaluru, IAF said in a tweet.
As part of its efforts in the fight against the surge in COVID-19 cases, an IL-76 of IAF is airlifting 350 oxygen cylinders from Singapore to Hindan airbase. Another IL-76 is bringing three cryogenic oxygen containers from Bangkok to Panagarh Airbase. ....

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 4 (ANI): The Indian Air Force (IAF) has decided to establish a COVID treatment facility with 100 beds at Air Force Station Jalahalli, in order to assist general public of Bengaluru reeling under the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
An official press release stated that the facility will be operational on May 6 with only 20 beds and oxygen concentrators at first.
Once oxygen availability is ensured by the state government, the remaining 80 beds are expected to be operational by May 20. Of the total 100 beds, there will be 10 ICU beds and 40 beds with piped oxygen. The remaining 50 beds will have oxygen concentrators, said IAF. ....

IAF to open 100-bed COVID care facility at Air Force Station, Jalahalli

The Indian Air Force has decided to establish a 100-bed COVID-19 treatment facility at Air Force Station Jalahalli for the general public. As per the information shared by the PRO Bengaluru, Ministry of Defence, the first 20 beds will be operational on May 6 with oxygen concentrators only. “Once oxygen availability is ensured by the State government, the remaining 80 beds are expected to be operational by May 20. Of the total 100 beds, there will be 10 ICU beds and 40 beds with piped oxygen. Balance 50 beds will have oxygen concentrators,” states the release.
The facility will be manned by doctors, nurses and paramedical staff provided by the Command Hospital Air Force, Bengaluru. “Admission to the facility will be coordinated by BBMP/ Government of Karnataka through a nodal officer. Government of Karnataka has assured necessary support for pharmacy, oxygen and security,” the release states. ....
