It was great to hear that Sault Ste. Marie is participating in an Ontario Wastewater Surveillance Initiative – even before city council asked it to.
The Ontario Wastewater Surveillance Initiative is a pilot project that uses wastewater samples to determine whether the samples and the data can be helpful to monitor for the presence of drugs or disease agents in the community.

It’s current focus is the COVID-19 virus and its variants.
