UK Octopus gets its tentacles on NZ software


Octopus Energy buys Marvel Labs Configurable software to expand reach.
Wellington-based software company Marvel Labs has sold its Configurable technology to UK-based global energy company Octopus Energy for an undisclosed sum.
It s a convenient transaction for Marvel Labs director Ari Sargent, who became a director of Octopus Energy New Zealand last July, five months after co-founding Marvel Labs.
The software is an advanced energy retail pricing system and will be used to bolster Octopus Energy’s Kraken platform, an automation system that allows Octopus to serve customers more efficiently.
The Octopus Energy brand will launch in New Zealand later this year in direct competition with NZX-listed Gentrack, whose local energy clients include TrustPower ....
