Victory as students get active with new ramps

Playtime has just got that bit more active for children at Nelson s Auckland Point school, with two bright orange ramps appearing in the school playground. Members of the Nelson Menzshed – some former pupils – made the ramps, and presented them to the students at the end of term assembly on Friday 16 April. Materials for the ramps were donated by the team at Mitre10 MEGA Nelson. Some Menzshed members had grandchildren at the school, teacher Katrina Raven said.

Acting Secretary KJ Lee, WR Golding Operator AG Greasley and and WH Turner at Auckland Point in 1964. “The Port’s shipping history stretches back to the 1880s when live horse exports were handled at the then timber Auckland Point Jetty,” Mr Walker said.
