From Friday to Sunday, 36 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Oxford Elgin. The total, as of Monday, was 124 cases in the Southwestern Public Health region.
Variants of Concern made up 67 per cent of the active cases, medical officer of health Dr. Joyce Lock said.

Tillsonburg had 22 ongoing cases as of Monday, down almost one-third from the previous week.
“We have two ongoing institutional outbreaks,” Lock said.
Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital has had 15 resident cases and five staff cases as of Monday (cumulative), and one previously announced deceased patient, who was over age 80. ....

In less than one week the Town of Tillsonburg filled its quota of volunteers needed to help at the Mass Immunization Clinic at the Tillsonburg Community Centre.
The first shifts started Monday morning, two weeks after the clinic opened in the Lions Auditorium, with Val Harrop and Bridget Fearon being the first community volunteers. ....

Two more deaths at Tillsonburg’s hard-hit Maple Manor nursing home underscored the growing need to get the COVID-19 vaccine to vulnerable residents in long-term care.
