Oxford United in the Community offering mental health sessions


OXFORD United’s charity has been awarded more than £2,000 by a Government grant, to run sessions designed to support mental health for women.
Oxford United in the Community was awarded £2,380 by the Football Foundation, with funds being used to launch weekly sessions beginning on July 16.
The sessions will take place at Easington Sports Football Club in Banbury, from 2pm to 4pm, and are free for women aged between 16 and 30.
Chris Lowes, head of Oxford United in the Community, said: “We’re pleased to partner with Oxfordshire Mind and Easington Sports, and look forward to delivering football activity and mental health support sessions. ....

Staff at an Oxford stationery shop are enjoying a double celebration - easing of lockdown restrictions and the store’s 18th birthday.
Since non-essential shops reopened on April 12, there have been a steady stream of customers at Scriptum in Turl Street.
Loyal customers who have supported the business by buying stationery online during the lockdowns are now returning.

Manager Holly Probert, who has worked at Scriptum for 10 years, said staff were delighted that business was steady so soon after reopening. ....
