BHUBANESWAR: The health and family welfare department has issued an advisory for private laboratories after getting complaints from the people against these labs. In order to conduct Covid-19 testing in a smooth and hassle free manner through RT-PCR method, this advisory will help.
The department has observed that some private labs are collecting swabs from residence of the suspected Covid cases to conduct RT-PCR tests and collecting high charges. There are also complaints about non-submission of reports in time. ....

Prescription must to refill oxygen cylinders: North Goa collector | Goa News

PANAJI: The state government has decided to prohibit medical oxygen suppliers and manufactures from refilling oxygen cylinders for citizens and volunteer groups unless accompanied by a prescription issued by a primary health centre (PHC) or doctor at any of the Covid-19 hospitals in the state.
In a bid to prevent oxygen refills, North Goa collector Ajit Roy has deputed a few government officers and police personnel at the five major oxygen suppliers in the state.
The unwritten order issued by the North Goa district collector, ostensibly to prevent hoarding and black market supply of oxygen, has also put oxygen dependent patients in home quarantine in a quandary. ....

Darez Ahamed to head T.N. COVID-19 war room, nodal officers announced

Six nodal officers named for the Unified Command Centre.
The Tamil Nadu government on May 9 announced the names of six nodal officers to the Unified Command Centre (UCC) that will function as the COVID-19 War Room.
Darez Ahamed, Executive Director, Guidance, will head the UCC and will be in charge of overall co-ordination of the command centre.
K. Nanthakumar, Secretary, TNPSC, will be the nodal officer for State oxygen monitoring and emergency response. Mr. Nanthakumar will co-ordinate with the Tamil Nadu Medical Supplies Corporation on all issues related to liquid medical oxygen and liaise with private hospitals for their oxygen requirements. ....
