Richard Medley


Richard Medley, 89, of Sevierville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Friday, July 2, 2021. He was originally from Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Degree in Electrical Engineering. He designed numerous light fixtures for sports parks and other venues.
He met the love of his life, Charlotte, in Chicago and married in 1953. He was the world’s greatest Dad to two children, beloved Grampy to two grandchildren and made numerous lifelong friends while living in Illinois and relocations to Pennsylvania and New York. He loved boating and enjoyed extensive travelling throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Europe and Tahiti before retiring to his beloved Smoky Mountains in 1997. After retirement he achieved his lifelong dreams cruising to additional countries in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Though he is gone from sight, he is now home with God. ....

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Campbell Landfield; and husband of 64 years, Roy.
She leaves behind a daughter, Dr. Judy Campbell-Karpis (Alexander); four grandchildren, Rebecca Koch, (m. Rudy), Dr. Ryan Landfield (m. Dr. Susan Hogle), Capt. John Karpis, U.S. Air Force (m. Maj. Natalie Cepak, USAF), and Alexander M. Karpis. She had eight wonderful great-grandchildren, Grace, Claudia, William, Henry, Maeryn, Benedict, Freya and Jefferson.
Born and raised in rural Sevier County, Dot lived for 50 years in Miami Springs, Florida, before moving back to the family homestead in Sevierville permanently in 2013.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dot was a stay-at-home mother until her daughters were teenagers. She worked for many years as a clerk in the Credit Department at J.C. Penny’s, and as pastor’s secretary and bookkeeper at First Baptist Church of Hialeah until her retirement. She was a fervent member of the laity at Fi ....

Mrs. Cope was born Feb. 8, 1931 at Jellico, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby Effie Baker Fuson; brother, Joe Fuson and sister; Laura Fuson Martin.
Mrs. Cope was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Rev. Dr. William Wayne Cope. Mrs. Cope is survived by their daughter, Karen Cope Dawsey, Whiteville, North Carolina; their granddaughter, Allison Dawsey Yezek, Charlotte, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Ava Carolyn Yezek and Mason James Yezek, Charlotte, North Carolina. She is also survived by sisters, Novella Fuson Phillips, Knoxville, Tennessee and Flo Fuson Martin, Bristol, Virginia and the extended Fuson and Cope families. ....

Steve W. Smith, 45, of Sevierville, passed from his earthly life on April 1, 2021, due to severe depression. He is now at peace in his Heavenly home, rejoicing with many loved ones.
Steve graduated from Sevier County High School and Walters State Community College. He was an amazing salesman. He enjoyed fishing on any lake, but most of all he enjoyed late night talks with the love of his life, Kennedy, his daughter. He truly loved her more than life itself.
