An Eton teacher who was sacked over a lecture attacking radical feminist orthodoxy has said controversy is essential in education and claimed he s received support from Tory ministers.
Will Knowland was removed from his role at the prestigious Berkshire school after posting a lecture on Youtube challenging so-called modern feminist views about toxic masculinity .
The lecture, in which the English teacher quoted an article saying women wanted to be overwhelmed by the sheer power of masculinity , was prepared for older pupils at the £42,500-a-year school.
But he was sacked after he repeatedly refused requests from the college s head master Simon Henderson to take the video down. ....

Eton College was given legal advice that said it could report its dismissed Master to the anti-terrorism Prevent programme for allegedly advocating male supremacy and the glorification of violence.
The elite £42,500-a-year public school reported their concerns to their local authority over teacher Will Knowland s lecture.

Dozens of Old Etonians threaten to withhold £2million in donations from Eton College

A spokesperson for Eton College told MailOnline: We are sorry some Old Etonians have taken this position, but the school must act in the best interest of current pupils and staff and this includes complying with regulations which Mr Knowland s video breached.
Many other Old Etonians have sent the school strong messages of support, telling us that we have done the right thing.
Earlier this month Mr Knowland lost his appeal over his dismissal after the governing body upheld the decision to sack him.
He told MailOnline that he was disappointed, but not surprised over the verdict and claimed that he thought it was inevitable the appeal hearing would ultimately find against him. ....
