Expect Snow, Winter Weather Conditions in Shreveport

There s been a lot of talk about it possibly snowing in Northwest Louisiana the past couple days. Originally there was just a chance for some flurries. Now, it sounds like may see some real snow and real winter weather on Sunday, January 8th 2021.
Meteorologist Jeff Castle, from KSLA, made the original snow projections on Monday saying that the possibility of snow kept showing up on the models. At that time, he still wasn t convinced that it would happen and stopped short of making an official forecast calling for snow.
However, things are bit different now. Andrew Brightman, also from KSLA, is not only calling for snow but says it may end up being more than just flurries. Here s what Brightman wrote on their website: ....

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Good morning and happy Friday eve! As we close in on the weekend we are tracking leftover showers across parts of the ArkLaTex this morning. As we go through Thursday we will see slowly improving weather for the region along with temperatures that will not make it out of the 40s. The cold temperatures are likely to continue over the next week as all eyes will turn to Sunday night and Monday. ....

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Good morning and happy Wednesday! We continue to track heavy rain that will be moving into the region later on this morning and will continue throughout the afternoon and into the evening hours across the ArkLaTex. Some of this rain will be heavy at times as the cold front moves through the region. Behind the cold front we are expecting much colder temperatures as we move through the rest of the week and weekend. This weekend is still expected to be very chilly with high temperatures in the 40s, but all eyes continue to be on Sunday and Monday. A developing area of low pressure to our south will give the region some potential wintry precipitation Sunday afternoon through early Monday. T ....

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Good Friday morning and happy New Year! As we kick off a new year we are tracking drier weather for the region as our major weather maker begins to move out of the ArkLaTex. We still will have to deal with chilly temperatures along with some breezy conditions throughout the day. As we go through the weekend we expect your weather to continue to improve as the skies clear and temperatures move back into the low 60s by Sunday. On the final day of what has been a year we will never forget we are tracking continued wet weather across the ArkLaTex as an area of low pressure continues to develop in central Texas. The potential for rain and thunderstorms will continue for the region until just before sunrise on New Years Day 2021 when our weather will start to improve. The weekend will start off chilly, but by Sunday afternoon temperatures should return to the 60s. Next week we are expecting pleasant weather through Wednesday when we are tracking another strong front that will bring more rain and storms to the region. ....
