WORTHINGTON
It appears a new neighborhood park will be part of the city’s planned Cecilee Addition, given the consensus opinion during Wednesday afternoon’s special Worthington City Council meeting.
City council members, in a joint discussion with members of the Worthington Planning Commission, indicated their preference for a new park as part of the project. While three alternative locations for the park were presented, a final site was not determined though one of the three choices appears to be a clear favorite. ....

WORTHINGTON The Worthington City Council on Monday night conducted its annual meeting Monday night, choosing its mayor pro tem for 2021 and approving annual appointments.
During a meeting of just about five minutes in duration, city council Mike Harmon was elected as mayor pro tem for the next 12 months. Harmon, who also served in the post during 2020, will act in the event of Mayor Mike Kuhle’s absence throughout the current year.
Committee and subcommittee assignments for the five Worthington City Council members and Kuhle were also approved Monday. Those assignments are as follows: ....

While the U.S. presidential election made headlines across the nation and the world, Worthington and Nobles County had their own campaigns as well this past year.
In the city of Worthington, Chris Kielblock won the right to represent Ward 1 on the Worthington City Council and replace retiring councilman and former mayor Alan Oberloh. Kielblock earned 59.06% of the vote total to defeat Aida Simon, who had 40.47%. ....
