The state continued its case in the Moore hit-and-run trial early this week, calling witnesses, first responders and coaches to the stand for an emotional two days of testimony.
Max Townsend is charged with three counts of second degree murder for hitting multiple cross country and track students outside Moore High School on Feb. 3, 2020.
Townsendâs defense is not denying he was behind the wheel or that the accident happened; Townsendâs attorneys say he choked on a Red Bull, passed out and lost control of his car. ....

Cleveland County Commissioners met in executive session Monday to discuss an ongoing lawsuit filed by the family of Marconia Kessee, a Black man who died in January 2017 at the county jail.
Commissioners met for nearly an hour, but took no action following the session. Federal court records show depositions of expert witnesses began Monday, with at least a dozen more scheduled through the end of May. ....

Oklahoma County Jail's Health Care Provider Rescinds Threat To Terminate Contract

Turn Key Health, the health care provider for the Oklahoma County Detention Center, has rescinded its warning to terminate the jail contract after a hostage incident last month called into question the current working conditions and safety for the health care staff.
In a notice sent March 29 to the jail administrator, Turn Key said the jail would need to increase staffing or the provider would terminate the partnership.
Both Turn Key and the jail said they were committed to making the partnership work.
This week Turn Key officials acknowledged the jail’s improvements saying in part, “the strategic planning we are working on together gives us assurance that our expectations will be met. ....
