Islamabad : Early diagnosis and treatment, coupled with the use of multidisciplinary approaches can play a vital role in improving functional outcomes for children suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The Manager of the Rehabilitation Department of Shifa International Hospital (SIH) Faiza Badar disseminated this message on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, which is observed every year on April 2 to promote autism awareness and autism acceptance. ASD is a range of neurodevelopmental disorders predominantly characterized by impaired social functioning and communication disturbances.
“The management of autism depends on timely diagnosis, early intervention, and use of a multi-disciplinary approach which includes Behavior Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy, Sensory Integration, and Occupational Therapy,” Faiza stated. ....

Stocks on Wednesday kicked off with a good gap-up, aiming high, but late exits rolled back early gains as the third Covid wave continues to build up in the country, dealers said.
A Topline Securities commentary said equities closed slightly positive and benchmark KSE-100 Shares Index gained 0.22 percent or 96.82 points to close at 44,587 points.
Day-on-day, total traded volume increased 31 percent to 443 million shares and value 25 percent to Rs25.91 billion.
Pakistan raised $2.5 billion through bond deal on Tuesday which led the market to open with a gap-up with the index make an intraday high of 642 points, the brokerage said. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to ensure early completion of a shrine of Hindu saint Shri Paramhans Ji Maharaj in Karak, restraining the Hindu community from interfering in the process.
A two-member bench of the apex court comprising Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Ijazul Ahsen heard a suo motu case about the desecration/burning of the shrine by a mob in Karak as well as a minorities rights case. On December 31, the chief justice had taken a suo motu notice of the incident and directed the One Man Commission on Minorities Rights, the chief secretary KP and the IGP KP to visit the site and submit a compliance report. The court directed the chief secretary to ensure that there is no delay in the completion of the shrine in six months and restrained the Hindu community from interfering in the process.
