If you miss swimming: Explore more hidden beaches Image Credit: Most people who live in Dubai, love the beach, which is why you can usually never find one that s empty enough, especially on the weekend, but over the last few months, I have made some discoveries of hidden beaches in Dubai. Although La Mer, Kite Beach and Secret Beach are incredible beach destinations, they tend to fill up quickly because of the great amenities. The trick would be to visit beaches that aren’t really kitted out with bathrooms, food trucks or showers. They tend to be emptier. Great ones to explore would be Mercato Beach, Sunrise Beach, Sunset Beach and Open Beach all in Jumeirah. Or you can go for a drive all the way down to Jebel Ali to the Jebel Ali Open Beach.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved the new UAE Strategy for Domestic Tourism that encourages residents to explore in their own backyards. The campaign, dubbed, ‘World’s Coolest Winter’ prompts residents and citizens to explore the hidden gems of seven emirates. The 45-day event, overseen by the Ministry of Economy in collaboration with local tourism entities and supported by the UAE Government Media Office, aims to highlight the major landmarks and attractions that distinguish each emirate and contribute to the UAE as a single destination. The new campaign not only aims to boost domestic tourism but will also attract people to take advantage of attractive offers to enjoy the best winter in the world.
