RIDGEFIELD School officials have reported six more cases of COVID-19 among the Ridgefield High School community, according to a message that went out to parents Wednesday.
“These individuals were not in the RHS building during a period of time when they were infectious to others, and no contact tracing is needed,” wrote Aarron Crook, the district’s COVID-19 health and safety compliance liaison and coordinator of nursing services.
Crook said he has spoken with Health Director Ed Briggs and Dr. James Ahern, the public schools’ medical adviser about the cases. ....

RIDGEFIELD Two new COVID-19 cases, both in the Farmingville Elementary School community, have Ridgefield school officials concerned about possible in-school transmission.
“At this time, due to a number of new cases at FES, potential in school transmission, and several symptomatic staff members awaiting test results we would be closing the FES building for a period of 14 days to prevent potential spread of COVID-19 within the building,” Aaron Crook, the schools’ COVID-19 liaison, wrote in an email late Wednesday afternoon. ....

Ridgefield COVID Update: 9 New Cases, Testing Continues at Yanity Gym, Webinar on Thursday

Ridgefield is currently reporting 9 new cases as of Monday, December 14 at 4 p.m. with ages of cases ranging from under one to 100. The majority of the cases fall in the 40-50 age range.

Infectious Disease Doctor Mayer Madhoun and Health Director Ed Briggs will talk about the upcoming vaccines during a town-wide webinar on Thursday, December 17 at 7 p.m. Panelists also include School Superintendent Susie Da Silva, Data Scientist Rick Lawrence and First Selectman Rudy Marconi.
