Washington, D.C. – On the heels of his introduction of the Midwives for MOMS Act, U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) introduced legislation to increase access to quality, affordable maternity care through the creation of a federally funded Birth and Women’s Health Center demonstration program.
The BABIES Act requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to establish a Medicaid demonstration program to improve freestanding birth center services for women with low-risk pregnancies. ....

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey s decision to relax COVID-19 capacity restrictions comes too early because the pandemic s not over, some health experts said Friday.
The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association released a statement after the governor s announcement saying that Arizona is not in a situation  where we can ease up on public health mitigation.
