MACOMB McDonough District Hospital President Brian Dietz confirmed that 205 doses of coronavirus vaccine were delivered Wednesday. He said that Health Department Emergency Response Coordinator Ben Thompson, accompanied by a McDonough County Sheriff s deputy, delivered the vaccine at 12:30 p.m. and medical personnel began getting their shots at around 2 p.m., with a Macomb police officer present at all inoculations.
Dietz said at least 70 shots were given the first day. He said Dr. Jack McPherson was the first to be inoculated, followed by Chief Medical Officer Ed Card. He said shots would continue through Friday and on Saturday if necessary. In addition to those at MDH, shots will be given to personnel in doctors offices. ....

Local COVID-19 vaccination plan underway

MACOMB McDonough District Hospital is the first stop locally for the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. Health Department Emergency Response Coordinator Ben Thompson said Monday that the Illinois Department of Public Health has directed that emergency healthcare workers at MDH receive the first vaccinations.
Thompson is the IDPH point of contact in McDonough County. He said representatives of MDH and County Emergency Services have been with him during the last few weeks as state health administrators have outlined their plan for the county. It s been a very fast process, Thompson said, with lots of changes and adjustments.
The emergency response coordinator said vaccination of hospital providers will continue this week and possibly into next week. IDPH will tell us when to move on to the next part, which is vaccinations at individual doctor s offices, Thompson said. ....
