The snowstorm that hit northeast Arkansas forced many schools and leagues to cancel regular season games and postseason tournaments. Then on Friday, the Arkansas Activities Association announced that all Regional and State tournaments, and the State Finals were being moved back a week due to the weather, and factors related to COVID-19. Jonesboro Public Schools Athletic Director Trey Harding joined “The Drive with Brad Bobo” on Monday to update us on how the 5A-East will handle things in the postseason. ....
The Mountain Home High School wrestling teams will be hosting the 5A-East Conference Tournament this weekend at Bomber Gymnasium. It will be a two-day event, and the process of purchasing tickets differs from each day. The girls’ side of the tournament is scheduled for Friday at 3:30. Tickets will be sold at the gate. The boys’ action will get started Saturday at 10 a.m., and vouches or Arkansas Activities Association passes will be needed to attend. Wrestlers will receive vouchers from the coaching staff, and the remaining vouchers will be available Thursday in the Mountain Home Athletic Office. The Arkansas Activities Association recently released its All-State teams for cheer and dance, and four area high school students are on the list. Mountain Home cheerleader Anna Caraway received the honor on the West team. The area was also represented on the East side by Salem’s Cherish Kemp. Two other local students made the dance teams. Gianna Taylor of Mountain Home is on the West’s list, and Havyn Hubberd of Mountain View was picked for the East. WebReady ....
