A teenage boy has died after getting into difficulty in Loch Lomond.
A search operation was launched at Balloch Country Park after a report of concern for a person in the water at around 5.55pm on Friday.
Police said a male youth was recovered from the water and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Formal identification has still to take place but the family of a 16-year-old boy has been informed.

Police appeal for information after 'mindless act of vandalism' in Oban play park

Police in Oban are appealing for witnesses after a play park was damaged in a “mindless act of vandalism” this week.
A wooden bench and seal were seriously damaged in the incident along with part of the ground being scorched at the Oban Community Play Park, Dalriach Road.
The vandalism is understood to have been carried out between 4pm on Wednesday 28 and 4pm on Thursday 29 April.
Part of the head of the model wooden  seal was broken off along with the edges of the bench having been removed or chipped. ....

A man has died following a crash between a motorbike and a car near Oban.
The incident took place at about 2.30pm on Friday on the A85, east of Connel.
A black Kawasaki motorbike collided with a black Mitsubishi Outlander.
Emergency services attended and a 62-year-old man was taken to Lorne and Islands District and General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. ....

Police have re-issued an appeal for information after a 69-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle in Oban.
Officers are asking for dashcam footage as they continue their investigation into the fatal crash, which happened around 6.30pm on January 21.
Margaret Smith was struck by a Citroen Berlingo van as she walked in Soroba Road.
The male driver of the car, a Citroen Berlingo van, was uninjured. ....
