Tulsa band to kick off Arcadia Round Barn concert series

ARCADIA Tulsa band And Then There Were Two will present the first Elm Tree Concert of the season at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Arcadia Round Barn.
The acoustic Americana and Red Dirt band is composed of Austin K. Haworth, Amy Carlin Lee, Bobby C. Ward and Chad Varnell.
Free outdoor concerts will be presented most Sundays through Sept. 26 beneath the shade of the giant elm tree on the north side of the barn. The Round Barn Rendezvous jam sessions are noon to 4 p.m. on the second Sunday of the month.
The Arcadia Round Barn is six miles east of Interstate 35 on State Highway 66 and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information, go to arcadiaroundbarn.com. ....

More than 100 volunteers will gather April 24 to repair nine Oklahoma City metro-area homes as part of Rebuilding Together OKC’s National Rebuilding Month Initiative. These homes will receive critical home repairs to help some of our most vulnerable neighbors – seniors, veterans, people with disabilities and other families in need.
With the pandemic, ice storms, record low temperatures, it has been a tough year, said Lauren Sullivan, Rebuilding Together’s executive director, in a news release.
“Our organization is proud to help restore the homes and dignity of our neighbors who need it most,” she said. ....

The Down Syndrome of Central Oklahoma is celebrating World Down Syndrome Day Sunday with crazy socks, a kite party in an Oklahoma City park and a virtual sock hop.
So wear your crazy socks that day to show your support of DSACO, the local organization’s nickname, and enjoy a day to “Knock Your Socks Off!”, the awareness campaign’s theme. Show up for some kite-flying fun between 2 and 4 p.m. at Stars & Stripes Park, 3701 S. Lake Hefner Dr., and then enjoy the sock hop between 7:30 and 8 p.m. with the Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa. That night, the Skydance Bridge will be lit up in blue and yellow. ....
