View Comments River Road S is closed and more than 100 people are without power after a vehicle struck a utility pole near Independence Wednesday evening.   The Marion County Sheriff s Office responded to the single-car crash around 5:30 p.m. prompting the closure on River Road S between Orville Road and the Independence Bridge.  The driver, who was not immediately identified, suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, sheriff s office spokesperson Sgt. Jeremy Landers said.  Pacific Power reported an outage affecting 127 customers in the area due to the crash. The outage is affecting residents in the 97302 and 97306 zip codes.
