iMOVE Medical Delivery Drones, Australia - sUAS News - The Business of Drones

12 February 2021
Custom-made, state-of-the-art medical drones with a flying range of up to 250km will be developed and trialled for delivery of potentially life-saving medicines in Northern Territory.
The project, Integrating drones into NT health, will also pave the way for future delivery of critical items such as cold-storage vaccines (COVID 19) in regional and remote communities, the iMOVE Cooperative Research Centre – part of the federally funded CRC Program – revealed today.
Australia’s first ever healthcare delivery drone trail for regional Australia will be undertaken in the Northern Territory, one of the most sparsely settled jurisdictions in the developed world with a significant Indigenous population living in remote communities. ....

Test of civil drone flights in GPS denied environment successfully conducted - sUAS News

12 February 2021
A first worldwide test of civil drone flights in GPS denied environments was successfully conducted in Israel in a special drone test zone in Yeruham, where safe navigation solutions for drone flight Beyond Visual Line Of Sight (BVLOS) were presented.
The test is part of NAAMA, the Israeli drone delivery pilot program operated by Israel’s Ministry of Transport (MOT), Ayalon Highways, the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel (CAAI) and Israel Innovation Authority, for testing and demonstrating drone technologies in managed airspace (UTM).
The current test is examining how vision-based navigation technologies can help drone operators address the increasing threat of GPS signal disruption. This kind of disruption can originate from a bevy of sources, including enemies seeking to disrupt a military mission, individuals using them for their own purposes, satellite malfunction, and even solar flares, making it critical to develop other form ....

Sea trials for Turkey’s first weaponized unmanned vessel “ULAQ” have commenced, its manufacturer, Meteksan  Savunma announced today.
“The Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle (SİDA), the first platform of the ‘ULAQ’ series, whose prototype production was completed, was launched and sea tests began,” the company tweeted today.
A video released by Meteksan shows the ULAQ Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle (AUSV) being lowered into the sea at the ARES Shipyard and speeding away from the shore.
In the video, the unmanned armed drone is seen going past the Turkish seabed exploration vessel Oruç Reis which was at the center of a confrontation in the Eastern Mediterranean between Turkey and Greece in late 2020. ....

Remote ID For Manned Aviators - sUAS News - The Business of Drones

11 February 2021
While commitments have been made to leverage industry support on technical implementations, there remains a need to address how Remote Identification (RID) can support existing low altitude airspace operations. RID information should be something that all low altitude aviators can take advantage of to improve safety – whether it is for emergency medical helicopters, public safety, crop dusters, or any other general aviation pilot. Last year Hidden Level published a white paper on the gaps that remain with RID previous to the notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) being published for comment. Our paper, “Realizing Remote ID“, included highlighting operational issues ahead for Cockpit Awareness for low-altitude pilots and for Coverage/Flexibility of RID information delivery risk mitigation. ....
