Austin Community Foundation has awarded $225,000 from its Hispanic Impact Fund to 12 local nonprofit organizations.
The funds are unrestricted and can be used for general operating expenses for these organizations that have focused on the Hispanic and Latino communities. The fund focused on organizations in three areas: early childhood education, health and wellness, and job skills and entrepreneurship.
The Hispanic Impact Fund was established in 2017 and has granted $655,000 since then.
“Supporting Central Texas nonprofits that serve Latino families and individuals is vital to ensuring that the racial wealth divide doesn’t expand further due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Monica Muñoz Andry, 2020 grants chair for the Hispanic Impact Fund.  ....
