MSU sets up student-only vaccine clinic


80% of students report plans to be vaccinated
Beginning Friday, Michigan State University will start administering doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to its registered students, by appointment only, at a student-only vaccine clinic inside the Pavilion for Agricultural and Livestock Education. Doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are being made available specifically for students through the Ingham County Health Department and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
This news comes following a recent survey conducted by the National Social Norms Center at MSU that showed more than 80% of MSU undergraduate and graduate students plan to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it is available to them. This response was nearly consistent across all ages, genders and ethnicities. ....

Lansing schools delay in-person learning for third time amid COVID spike


LANSING  For the third time in a month, Lansing School District pushed back its return to in-person learning.
The move comes after local health officials urged schools to keep students at home amid a spike in COVID-19 cases across the state.
In-person learning at Lansing schools will now resume on Monday, April 19, according to a press release issued Wednesday.
Administrators moved the original return date of March 22 back to Monday, April 12 after a district COVID coordinating committee, which included school nurses, expressed concern over rising cases.
The district is currently on spring break. Classes will be fully remote the first week back. The following week, students can choose to return to a mix of online and in-person learning. ....
