BOSTON – A South Yarmouth man pleaded guilty Monday, April 26, in federal court in Boston to fentanyl and heroin offenses.
Dustin Monick, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and 100 grams or more of heroin and one count of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl. U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton scheduled sentencing for Sept. 8, 2021. Monick was charged by criminal complaint in August 2020.
In December 2019, Monick was stopped by police in Yarmouth for multiple traffic violations. After speaking briefly with police, Monick fled the scene in his vehicle, but was stopped shortly thereafter. Police observed a backpack in Monick’s vehicle during the stop, which was later found along the road and contained over 600 grams of heroin and fentanyl. Former employee of Millbury plumbing company sentenced for marijuana, fraud and money laundering convictions


Boston – A former employee of a family-owned plumbing business in Millbury was sentenced today for drug, money laundering and fraud convictions arising from his role in a large-scale marijuana grow operation.
Thomas Laverty of Clinton, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Timothy S. Hillman to 12 years in prison, eight years of supervised release and ordered to pay $3,100 in restitution. In January 2020, Laverty was convicted following a five-day trial of conspiring to cultivate more than 100 marijuana plants, conspiracy to launder money, cultivating marijuana and possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, and later pleaded guilty to and additional charge of theft of government funds. ....
