Velasco confident priority bills will be passed into law before year ends

Speaker Lord Allan Velasco expressed confidence Friday that the remaining priority bills of the Duterte administration would be passed into law before the year ends.
In a statement, Velasco said the five priority bills, earlier identified by the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC), include the proposed Philippine Virology Institute Act, Center for Disease Control Act, Amendments to the Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016, Bureau of Immigration Modernization Act, and National Housing Development Act.
Definitely, matatapos naman po natin ito before the year ends dahil kitang-kita naman po natin na ang Kongreso, ang Kamara po pag crunch time po eh nagdedeliver naman po, Velasco said in a separate interview on GMA News Unang Balita. ....

LEDAC identifies 12 top priority measures

The Duterte administration expects Congress to pass its 12 top priority measures by June this year to enable the country bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said.
The Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) Executive Committee (ExCom) listed 30 measures in the Common Legislative Agenda (CLA) for the 18th Congress, of which five have already been passed by the legislature.

Acting Socioeconomic Planning Secretary and LEDAC Secretariat Head Karl Kendrick T. Chua said 12 measures were identified as top priorities to be passed by the end of the second regular session in June 2021, while the remaining 13 are targeted to be passed within this year. ....
