With Cyclone Yaas predicted to make landfall on the eastern coast on May 26 and likely to hit parts of Odisha and West Bengal, the Indian Navy on Tuesday said it has ramped up rescue and relief operations to minimise damages.
  INS Netaji Subhas is spearheading the Indian Naval s relief effort at West Bengal and is in close coordination with the State Government of West Bengal for preparations for Cyclone Yaas, which is scheduled to make landfall between Odisha and West Bengal coast on May 26 , informed an official release by the Indian Navy.  ....

Cyclone Yaas will cross the North Odisha the West Bengal coast between Paradip and Sargar islands by May 26 evening as a very severe cyclonic storm , said the IMD on Sunday. 
According to the weather department, the satellite imageries and Ocean Buoy Observations indicated that the Low-Pressure Area on Saturday became well-marked over the east-central Bay of Bengal has concentrated into a Depression .    ....

Under Samudra Setu-II Ops, INS Jalashwa arrived in Visakhapatnam with COVID relief consignment including oxygen cylinders & ventilators from Brunei & Singapore.

As part of the ongoing COVID Relief Operation Samudra Setu II’ launched by the Indian Navy, the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Jalashwa arrived in Visakhapatnam on Sunday with critical COVID relief consignment including oxygen cylinders and ventilators from Brunei and Singapore. INS Jalawsha reached with 18 cryogenic oxygen tanks and other critical COVID care material including 3,650 oxygen cylinders and 39 ventilators from Brunei and Singapore.

Visakhapatnam, May 22 (UNI) As the low-pressure area in the North Andaman Seas is likely to intensify as a Cyclonic Storm ‘Yaas’ during the next 24 hours over the Bay of Bengal and moving North Westerly direction and likely to cross the coast between North Odisha and West Bengal around May 26 , Indian Navy is closely monitoring its movement.
Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command (ENC), and Naval Officers-in-Charge at West Bengal and Odisha Area have carried out preparatory activities to combat the effects of Cyclone ‘Yaas’ and is in constant liaison with the state administrations for rendering assistance as required, ENC said in a release here on Saturday. ....

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 19 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday held a conversation with his Gujarat counterpart Vijay Rupani to discuss the impact of Cyclone Tauktae as the cyclonic storm made landfall in the neighbouring state late in the night a day earlier.
In a tweet by the Maharashtra CMO in the evening, it read, This morning CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray spoke to Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani ji. They discussed the impact of Cyclone Tauktae on Maharashtra and Gujarat. On May 17, Thackeray was closely monitoring the movement and the impact of the cyclone. Vehicular movement is being restored after removing trees and electric poles that have fallen due to gusty winds. The CM also took stock of the damage to fishing boats. He also took stock of the interrupted Air and Rail services from the relevant departments , informed Thackeray s CMO. ....
