PM Imran says after UN plebiscite: Kashmiris may opt for Pakistan or freedom

TARAR KHAL, AJK: Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday promised the people of Kashmir that his government will hold a referendum in which they could choose to join Pakistan or become an independent state.
Addressing an election campaign rally here, he rubbished talk of him wishing to turn Azad Jammu and Kashmir into a new province of Pakistan .
I do not know where all this talk has sprung from, he said, dismissing any such idea.
But what I want to make clear now is that in 1948, there were two United Nations Security Council resolutions which granted the people of Kashmir the right to decide their future. According to the UN resolutions, the people have to decide whether they want to join Hindustan or Pakistan. ....

Pakistan seeks UN probe into hacking scandal - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Friday called for a United Nations probe into the Pegasus scandal and called for holding India accountable for it.
“In view of the gravity of these reports, we call on the relevant UN bodies to thoroughly investigate the matter, bring the facts to light, and hold the Indian perpetrators to account,” FO spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said while commenting on reports that India used Israeli-made snooping spyware to hack the phones and computers of journalists, judges, diplomats, government officials, rights activists and global leaders.
The reports emerged after an investigation by various international media organisations on a list of thousands of numbers globally provided by Forbidden Stories, a France-based not-for-profit organisation, and Amnesty International of potential targets of surveillance by the clients of NSO, the Israeli firm that sells the spyware. ....

Pakistan condemns India's state-sponsored spying operations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday condemned in the strongest possible terms India’s state-sponsored, continuing and widespread surveillance, and spying operations in clear breach of global norms of responsible state behaviour.
“We have noted with serious concern recent international media reports exposing Indian government’s organised spying operations against its own citizens, foreigners as well as Prime Minister Imran Khan, using an Israeli origin spyware,” Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri stated.
He was responding to the media queries regarding India’s use of Israeli spyware Pegasus – to hack the phones and computers of journalists, judges, diplomats, government officials, rights activists and global leaders, including PM Imran Khan. ....
