NEW DELHI, May 23, 2021 (BSS/XINHUA) – India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 26,530,132 with 240,842 new cases registered in the past 24 hours, said the federal Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.
Besides, as many as 3,741 deaths since Saturday morning took the death toll to 299,266. After two days, the number of daily deaths has once again fell below-4,000 mark.
There are still 2,805,399 active cases in the country, with a decrease of 118,001 cases in the past 24 hours. The number of daily active cases has been on the decline over the past few days, after a continuous surge since mid-April. ....

NEW DELHI, May 22 (Xinhua) India s COVID-19 tally rose to 26,289,290 with 257,299 new cases registered in the past 24 hours, said the federal Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.
A total of 4,194 deaths were recorded since Friday morning, taking the death toll to 295,525. The single-day deaths have once again peaked beyond the 4,000-mark for the past two days after declining to 3,874 on Thursday.
There are still 2,923,400 active cases in the country, a decrease of 104,525 in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases has been on the decline over the past few days, after a continuous surge since mid-April. ....

Home-based Covid-19 testing kit: All you need to know | India News


NEW DELHI: Indian Council of Medical Research on Wednesday cleared one home testing kit for detecting Covid-19 infections and also issued an advisory for its use.
The ICMR chief, Dr Balram Bhargava, had recently said the government is exploring home testing solutions to increase the testing capacity as the country battles the much severe second wave of Coroanvirus.
The testing kit is likely to be available in the market in a week s time.

The Indian Council of Medical Research on Wednesday issued an advisory on its website for Covid-19 home testing, where an individual can test themselves without the presence of a medical professional.
The ICMR said it has approved a kit called CoviSelf for home-based rapid antigen testing, which will only require a nasal swab.
However, ICMR cautioned that this should not be used indiscriminately and only those who have Covid-19 symptoms and those who are in immediate contact of laboratory-confirmed positive cases should go for home-based testing. ....
