After eight days of Covid-19 vaccination drive, more than 15 lakh healthcare workers have been vaccinated across the country, said government on Saturday.
The cumulative number of healthcare workers vaccinated against COVID19 has crossed 15 lakh today. A total of 15,37,190 beneficiaries (till 6 pm today) vaccinated through 27,776 sessions, as per the provisional report. 3,368 sessions were held till 6 pm today. 1,46,598 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 6 pm today, the eighth day of nationwide COVID19 vaccination. One of the leading drugmakers in the world, India has already committed to providing COVID-19 vaccines to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Myanmar, and Seychelles under grant assistance. The delivery of vaccines to these countries will start from today, January 20, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday. 
The Indian government has said that it will export the vaccines to Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Mauritius also in the coming days when the vaccines get regulatory approvals in these countries.

New Delhi, Jan 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi cautioned citizens against rumours about the COVID-19 vaccine.
The PM earlier had kickstarted the vaccine drive. The PM said that the the Indian vaccines are cheaper in comparison to the ones manufactured abroad.

This is the world s largest vaccination program covering the entire length and breadth of the country. A total of 3006 session sites across all States and UTs were virtually connected during the launch.
The Prime Minister started his speech by paying compliments to the scientists who were associated with the development of the vaccines. NEW DELHI: Endorsing the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Monday announced that it has decided to actively take part in the mission of COVID vaccination programme rolled out by Government of India.
