NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has directed aviation personnel who need to undergo breath analyser (BA) tests to compulsorily give “a declaration that they have not been exposed to alcohol consumption in the last 12 hours before duty”. And it has asked the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to do random testing of personnel like air traffic controllers, pilots and cabin crews while capping tests at 5% for flight crew (pilots and cabin crew) for the next three months. ....

MUMBAI: A total of 150 Air India passengers bound for Jaipur and Delhi are stranded in Doha airport since Monday evening after the aircraft met with a technical problem and the departure was delayed and by the time the aircraft was ready for the flight, the pilots’ limitation on flight duty time had kicked in.
Air India flight AI-1974 operating the Doha-Jaipur-Delhi route was scheduled to depart Doha at 8.45 pm.
An Air India spokesperson said that the flight was delayed due to technical reason. By the time, the aircraft was cleared for take off at 11.40pm, the cockpit crew had come under FDTL (Flight Time and Duty Limitation-norms that lay down the work and rest timings for pilots) and could not operate ....

The reason? Government couldn’t procure vaccines for the camp.
The proposed Covid vaccination camp at GSD complex, IGIA (Delhi airport) on May 11 and May 13 stands cancelled because government authorities have expressed inability to hold these camps due to non-availability of vaccines,’’ said the note.
Fresh dates will be notified once we get reconfirmation from government authorities,’’ said the note sent by Dr Raja Saikia, senior assistant general manager-medical, GSD, Delhi. ....
