Rizzo began his career as a band director in the East Allegheny School District in 1993.
Since that time, he has served as a band director for Penn Hills School District and Indiana Area School District, as well as an assistant principal at Indiana Area Senior High School, principal at Ben Franklin Elementary School, coordinator of instructional technology for Indiana Area School District, and most recently, assistant superintendent of the Indiana Area School District.
Rizzo is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Educational Leadership: Instructional Technology through Wilkes University. He earned his Superintendentâs Letter of Eligibility in 2015 from California University of Pennsylvania, his Principal Certification and Master of Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Penn State University. ....

âWith the challenges of COVID-19 the next judge needs to be able to step in and get right to work,â Dougherty said.
âMy courtroom experience is unmatched, whether it is criminal jury trials, civil litigation or family law,â he went on. âSince 2002, you would be hard pressed to find a lawyer who has spent more time in the courtroom than I have. I have handled all types of criminal matters ranging from murder to speeding tickets.â

Indiana Area Senior High School has cancelled all extracurricular activities over the weekend after a fourth case of Covid-19 was found in the building.
Indiana Area School District Officials confirmed that the building would be closed over the weekend and all extracurricular and athletic events, including this weekend’s Teddy Bear Fund Drive baseball and softball game, have been called off. During the three-day closure, which started today, the school will undergo a complete sanitization process. Students are expected to return to the building on Monday. ....

Spring-Ford School Board abruptly picks Rizzo for new superintendent

ROYERSFORD â With little warning, and no mention on the agenda, the Spring-Ford School Board voted 8-1 Monday night to halt its search for a new superintendent and negotiate a contract with the man doing the job right now.
The motion was made in the middle of the solicitor s report by school board member Tom DiBello, who said Acting Superintendent Robert Rizzo has done an outstanding job in difficult circumstances.
