Two people were sentenced in Indiana County Court today.
Court documents say 24-year-old Bilal Butler was sentenced to serve time in Indiana County Jail, along with paying fines and costs, for three separate cases of forgery dating back to May 2020. Reports say Butler made two small purchases at the Indiana Giant Eagle with fake $100 bills on May 6, 2020. After making these purchases, Butler was said to have made off with the change.
Indiana County Senior Judge William Martin sentenced Butler to serve 6 to 12 months in the Indiana County Jail along with paying costs and fines. In addition, Butler will serve two years of probation for each count, with each running consecutively. ....

A Philadelphia man will be sentenced today for three counts of forgery.
Court documents say that 24-year-old Bilal Basil Butler will be sentenced in three separate forgery cases that were filed on May 6
th of 2020. Butler was charged in Indiana County for making two small purchases at the Indiana Giant Eagle and paying for them with fake $100 bills, making off with the change. When police released the initial surveillance pictures connected with the incident, they showed that even though Butler could have worn a mask because of the pandemic, he chose not to. ....
