Government announces diversity in public sector initiative in response to Christchurch attack report

The government promises to do more to help the Muslim community scrutinise its every step while responding to the Royal Commission report into the Christchurch mosque shootings.
Minister Andrew Little is responsible for the government s implementation of the recommendations made in the Royal Commission of Inquiry report.

Its priorities include establishing groups to monitor its implementation of the report s recommendations and boosting diversity in the public sector.
The inquiry s 800-page report was released in December 2020 following a nearly 20-month investigation.

A fund to strengthen victims and families’ input into the government’s implementation of the Royal Commission of Inquiry recommendations is among new initiatives announced on the eve of the second anniversary of the Christchurch terror attack
The announcement came alongside a new report summarising community feedback from 33 nationwide hui (meetings) with Muslims and other faith and ethnic groups earlier this year to identify their key concerns and priorities. ....

The shuhada (martyrs), families, survivors and all those affected by the terrorist attack on two Christchurch Mosques are being acknowledged as the second anniversary approaches.
An official remembrance service will take place this Saturday March 13 in Christchurch.
âOur thoughts continue to be with the victims, survivors, families and all those affected by the horrific attack,â Lead Coordination Minister for the Governmentâs response to the Royal Commission Andrew Little says.
