Wyoming Reports 108 COVID-19 Hospitalizations


CHEYENNE According to the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH), the number of COVID-19 Coronavirus hospitalizations are at 108 this afternoon. At the start of the week, the state was reporting 114 hospitalizations, according the WDH’s hospitalization report.
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) currently has the most hospitalizations with 24 patients. Wyoming Medical Center (WMC) in Casper has 15, and Campbell County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) has 13 patients. St. John’s Medical Center out of Jackson Hole has 10 hospitalizations, and Powell Valley Healthcare has six.
CRMC has 14 out of 25 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds available, while WMC has 12 out of 20. CCMH has one out of seven beds, St. John’s has one out of six, and Powell Valley Healthcare has one out of two ICU beds available. ....

Sweetwater County to Receive Total of 1,375 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine by 2021


SWEETWATER COUNTY – Sweetwater County received 975 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 Coronavirus vaccine last week, and will receive 400 doses of the Moderna vaccine this week, according to Sweetwater County public health officials.
This means Sweetwater County will receive over 1,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccines by the end of the year.
Those receiving immunization first is the 1A group, which includes hospital staff, emergency medical services (EMS) providers, fire personnel, law enforcement, healthcare workers who are taking or handling COVID-19 samples, behavioral healthcare providers, dental and medical care providers, community nursing employees, home healthcare providers, school nurses, pharmacy staff, longterm care staff and residents, Able Hands and Life Skills staff and individuals receiving the services. ....

Wyoming Healthcare Workers to Receive 5,000 COVID-19 Vaccines Pending FDA Approval


WYOMING Governor Mark Gordon announced Monday to Wyoming legislators that Wyoming healthcare workers could be receiving 5,000 first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 Coronavirus vaccine within the coming week or so.
House District 48 Representative Clark Stith said on his Facebook page Monday that Governor Gordon made the announcement during the Joint Appropriations Committee initial budget meeting Monday morning. Representative Stith added that 15,000 doses are expected by the end of the year.
The AP Press reported today that a U.S. advisory government panel endorsed the Pfizer vaccine Thursday, in which Pfizer has claimed 95 percent efficacy of the drug. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is currently evaluating Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, and a decision of approval is expected within days. With the advisory panel’s endorsement, the FDA is expected to approve and shots will begin to be administered to the first round of people, which includes healthcar ....
